Our powerful technology is paving the way for developers and large enterprises across the globe and is positively changing the way our dispersed financial sector operates. Intrinio’s advanced, reliable platform delivers premium data packages that allow innovators to build with a peace of mind.
We are proud to collaborate with some of the most innovative and impactful entrepreneurs and businesses, and we are delighted to showcase their leading-edge work in our blog. Intrinio's Customer Success Spotlight series will focus on a client that has used our powerful technology to build something revolutionary.
This week's Customer Spotlight is dedicated to TickerStats, an interactive, user-friendly platform that provides new and seasoned investors with financial information such as stock per share data, fundamentals, and options. TickerStats makes investing fun by offering free tools and games through its engaging platform. We spoke to Head Engineer, Roman Bansal, about the inception of TickerStats, the Company’s biggest successes, and how they have set themselves apart from their competitors.
TickerStats democratizes access to financial data and statistics and provides free and automated tools that make your next trade decision a breeze. TickerStats is a platform that allows you to test your analyst skills and gain bragging rights, followers, and recognition from peers through our ranking system. With our automated tools, educational puzzles, competitions and more TickerStats makes you a better investor while keeping it fun and profitable!
We’ve been primarily in the low latency trading space for just short of a decade. At TickerStats, we all come from different professional backgrounds and have all discovered the freedom and joy that investing can bring and we want to share it with anyone who is willing to give it a shot!
Financial education is something you can always count on, regardless of the economy. We wanted to make it easy for anyone to get into investing. The most successful investors and traders trust the numbers, their experience and don’t succumb to their emotions. We train both newbie and experienced investors to think of investing as a game. You start at zero and by gaining knowledge and experience you get better and more successful. We know that it is not easy and might be frightening to put your hard-earned money on the line – we let people practice, gain confidence and in the end give them the ability to pull the trigger on their new investment / trade. Our dream is to take the “Wall Street” intimidation factor out of the picture. The reality is that anyone can participate in the markets and with the right training and education anyone can be profitable.
Our biggest challenge so far has been presenting our offerings in a way that are accessible to everyone. We want our users to learn something new, useful, and effective every time they visit TickerStats but don’t want to overwhelm them with new concepts and features all at once. Finding this balance is not trivial, but this is what we love to do!
We believe that we empathize with new and inexperienced investors and can make them very “dangerous” in no time. It is such a joy to hear someone say, “I didn’t even know this stock/company had X, Y or Z” or that “my overall portfolio had low X to Y ratio”. You would be surprised how many people make their trades on a whim just because a security price is moving in one direction or because they see some recommendation on TV.
Apart from a few exceptions, the current competition offers “exclusive” or “proprietary” content, and they charge a lot for it. We believe in the power of the crowd and that eliminating barriers such as exuberant costs and complexity will attract like-minded people. The markets are public, we would like to make sure they are truly that – public.
The pricing is competitive, the API makes sense (which eliminates the need to read documentation novels), and it has been a pleasure to work with Intrinio’s people!
