Our Eggsplanation
You may have noticed that our logo is a golden egg. We created that logo way back in 2013 when Intrinio was founded. Back then we were trying to build an application to automate discounted cashflow (DCF) valuations. DCF analysis can help identify companies that, like the goose that lays golden eggs, can generate strong cashflows in the future.
The golden egg represented the profits investors could generate through fundamental analysis if they could identify golden goose companies. The problem Intrinio faced was that the data that needed to perform DCF analysis, was really, really expensive - we couldn’t afford to license it for our app. So, we built the dataset ourselves.
In the process, we found out that the data we created while trying to build our app was more valuable than the app itself. We pivoted to become a financial data company. Since then, we've helped thousands of businesses and platforms license the data they need for their fintech innovations and applications.
Now we think of ourselves as the goose that lays the golden eggs. Every company that uses our data to build innovative applications is worth its weight in gold because they are building the future of finance.
