FAQ

How much volume is included in Nasdaq Basic?

Nasdaq basic includes +-16% of market volume on a given day. This is enough volume to create very high-quality data with very little drift from the NBBO.

Is Pre-Post Market data available?

Yes.

What are the exchange fees for this feed?

$1500/mo if you only need last sale. $2,000/mo if you also need bids/asks. You will also pay $1/mo per non-pro and $26/mo per pro.

Why would we want to use Nasdaq Basic?

Nasdaq basic provides exceptionally high quality market data, with bid, ask, and last sale data for all publicly traded stocks, at a significantly lower price point than any other solution. It is possible to achieve slightly more fidelity to the NBBO with other solutions, but the cost will be 2-10x higher. Users viewing Nasdaq basic will have access to accurate trade data without paying high prices.

How much bandwidth is required for Nasdaq Basic?

Nasdaq Basic sends about 2.5GB over the course of a day. That averages to 6-7 MB per minute, or 1Mbps. It's a good practice to add headroom to that because there are data spikes, so around 50Mbps download. If you want to pass it through to another server, your upload needs to at least match that amount.

Is Dark Pool data included in the Nasdaq Basic product?

No, Dark Pool data is currently only available in the 15 Minute Delayed SIP and Stock Price Tick History products.

For the Nasdaq Basic feed, what do the codes in the Trade Conditions field represent?

The Trade Conditions field is a 0-4 character string. Each character represents one of four levels. You can learn more in this helpful How To Guide.
