Choosing the right Intrinio data feed comes down to three questions:
1. Do you need historical or current data?
2. If you need current data, is delayed or real-time acceptable?
3. Do you need exchange-sourced data, or will Intrinio-derived pricing work?
• Backtesting
• Historical charts
• Previous trading-day prices
• Historical stock or options analysis
Intrinio’s standard data package includes US EOD & Historical Stock Prices and US EOD & Historical Options across Individual, Startup, and Enterprise plans.
• Live applications
• Current stock or options prices
• Market monitoring during the trading session
• Current analytics or trading signals
For current data, the next question is whether you actually need raw exchange-sourced data.
For most customers, the simplest place to start is EquitiesEdge for stocks and OptionsEdge for options.
EquitiesEdge provides Intrinio-derived real-time U.S. equity values and is included in the standard data package.
Choose EquitiesEdge when: You need current stock pricing, but your application does not require the price to come directly from an exchange.
Available on: Individual, Startup, and Enterprise.
Cost: Included with the plan.
OptionsEdge provides Intrinio-derived real-time options values and analytics.
Choose OptionsEdge when: You need current options information, but raw OPRA data is not a firm requirement.
Available on: Individual, Startup, and Enterprise.
Cost: Included with the plan.
Tip: If you are unsure whether you need raw exchange data, test EquitiesEdge or OptionsEdge first. Moving to an exchange-sourced feed adds licensing, approvals, and additional fees.
You need real-time stock values, but direct exchange sourcing is not required.
This is usually the best starting point because it is already included with the standard package.
You specifically need direct exchange-sourced real-time stock data.
Nasdaq Basic is an Enterprise add-on and requires applicable Nasdaq approval and fees.
You need broader consolidated exchange-sourced stock data, but a 15-minute delay is acceptable.
If you only need basic delayed stock pricing, start with the included Cboe One Delayed feed instead.
The same decision applies to options.
OPRA is the consolidated source for exchange-sourced U.S. options market data.
Choose Real-Time OPRA when your application specifically requires raw, exchange-sourced real-time options data.
Because OPRA is exchange-sourced, additional approval, licensing, display/non-display classifications, and exchange fees may apply.
If raw OPRA is not a firm requirement, start by testing OptionsEdge.
There can be a significant difference between included data and premium exchange-sourced feeds.
Important: Exchange fees can depend on how the data is used, displayed, distributed, and how many users have access. Final pricing for exchange-sourced products may therefore be higher than the Intrinio fee shown above.
A useful rule of thumb is:
Intrinio-derived feeds = simpler setup
Exchange-sourced feeds = additional licensing, approvals, and fees
Premium real-time exchange feeds such as Nasdaq Basic and Real-Time OPRA are Enterprise products.
One important exception is 15-Minute Delayed OPRA, which is available as an add-on beginning October 2026 and still requires the applicable OPRA approval.
Choose Individual for qualifying personal or internal use when the standard data package meets your needs.
Choose Startup for a commercial application when the standard data package meets your launch requirements.
Startup pricing is $333/month for the first 6 months, $666/month for months 7–12, and $999/month thereafter, billed quarterly.
Choose Enterprise when you have a confirmed requirement for premium exchange-sourced feeds, exchange approvals, custom licensing, SLAs, dedicated support, custom integrations, or other Enterprise requirements.
Enterprise starts at $1,250/month, before applicable premium data and exchange fees.
