A New Intrinio for the AI Era

We rebuilt intrinio.com from the ground up — transparent pricing, instant self-serve access, and a native MCP server that puts institutional-grade financial data directly inside your AI workflows.

There’s a moment in most fintech build cycles where the excitement stalls. The model is ready. The architecture is clean. The team is fired up.

Then someone pulls the financial data — and everything slows down.

It’s not that the data doesn’t exist. It’s that raw financial data is structurally hostile to modern software. Corporate actions break your historical series. Exchange fee agreements take weeks. Real-time data requires paperwork most developers have never had to file. LLMs choke on inconsistently formatted timestamps and mixed-schema option chains. And if you need a quote, you’re waiting days for a sales conversation before you even know if the price is in your budget.

We’ve watched this happen to thousands of teams. And we decided to fix it — properly.

Today, we’re launching a new Intrinio.

What’s New

Three Plans. Transparent Pricing. Instant Access.

The old Intrinio was B2B-first: quote-driven pricing, sales-assisted onboarding, and a product story that assumed you were already a professional developer working at an established firm.

The new Intrinio has three tiers — and two of them don’t require talking to anyone.

Individual — $150/month

For the solo builder, independent analyst, or developer shipping a finance side project. Core capital markets data: equities, options, fundamentals, ETFs, indices, economic data. Instant signup. API key in seconds.

This matters because most data providers that offer individual plans deliver individual-grade data — thin coverage, unreliable feeds, poor documentation. We took the same institutional-grade pipeline that powers Vanguard, Robinhood, and Royal Bank of Canada and made it available to a single developer for $150 a month. That’s never been done at this quality level.

Startup

For teams racing from prototype to production. Free trial with data access provisioned within 2 minutes of signup. Transparent, predictable pricing that starts small and scales. Python, Ruby, and JavaScript SDKs with sandbox environments. Easy upgrade to Enterprise when you’re ready.

We built this because we know what it’s like to be a startup waiting on a data vendor contract that takes longer to close than your next funding round. The Startup plan eliminates that entirely.

Enterprise

For institutions and large fintechs that need custom datasets, formal SLAs, dedicated support, streaming data, and compliance infrastructure. In-app exchange agreements, e-sign flows, and the full Intrinio catalog. The same product our largest customers have always known — now with a clearly defined entry point.

AI-First, Not AI-Adjacent

The financial data industry has been slow to reckon with what AI actually requires from data infrastructure. Raw feeds built for spreadsheets don’t work in LLM pipelines. Timestamps don’t parse. Schema inconsistencies break model training. Corporate action adjustments require custom preprocessing that no one has time to build.

Intrinio has spent years normalizing this away. Now we’re making that normalization an explicit feature — for human engineers and for the AI workflows they’re building.

The new intrinio.com has a dedicated /mcp page that exposes Intrinio as a Model Context Protocol server. MCP is the emerging standard for connecting LLMs to data sources — supported by Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, Zed, Goose, Continue, and a growing list of AI tools.

What does that mean in practice? It means a developer using Claude or Cursor can type:

“Pull last four quarters of revenue and EPS for NVDA, MSFT, and AMD. Which has the cleanest beat-and-raise pattern?”

And get a real answer — sourced directly from Intrinio’s institutional-grade fundamentals feed, in real time, inside their AI client. No API calls. No data wrangling. No context switching.

Six data domains are available via MCP: Stock Prices, Options, Fundamentals, Estimates, ETFs & Funds, and Indices & Events.

This is what it means to be AI-first — a capability, not a badge.

OptionsEdge and EquitiesEdge — Real-Time Data, No Friction

One of the biggest barriers to real-time market data has always been access friction: exchange fee agreements, application forms, legal review, and approval processes that can take weeks before a developer can test anything.

OptionsEdge and EquitiesEdge eliminate that. Both are available in the Individual and Startup plans — delivering real-time options and equities pricing that works exactly like exchange data, without the exchange fee agreements, paperwork, or restrictions.

For a solo developer building a volatility monitor, options screener, or AI trading tool, this changes the math entirely. Real-time data is now a Tuesday afternoon decision, not a procurement process.

One Account. Everything in It.

The old Intrinio experience was fragmented. The new account dashboard unifies everything: API keys, subscription management, data downloads, exchange agreements, billing, and AI-powered support — in a single place.

For Individual and Startup users, signup to production is entirely self-contained. For Enterprise, compliance workflows that used to require manual back-and-forth now happen in-app.

Why This, Why Now

AI is the biggest shift in financial services since the internet. Every serious financial firm is building AI products. The teams that win will be the ones who can move fastest.

The bottleneck isn’t model quality. The bottleneck is data.

The teams that win will have a trusted data layer they didn’t have to build themselves — one that’s already normalized, already AI-ready, already handling the exchange agreements and corporate actions and schema consistency. One they can start using today, not in six weeks.

That’s what we’re building. And with the new site, we’re making sure everyone who needs it can access it — not just enterprises with procurement departments.
