In this blog series, we’re giving you a peek behind the curtain at our team: who they are, what they do, and why it makes Intrinio great. This week we’re talking to Lauren Mangine, Intrinio’s sales development manager.
As an SDR, it is our job to make sure that we represent the company on calls and give prospects a great first impression. This may involve educating the prospect a bit on exactly what kind of data we provide, how we source our data, and letting them know what to expect as an Intrinio customer. We get the experience of talking to prospects all over the world that need financial data to build all kinds of interesting platforms/apps!
After a customer requests a consultation, they will receive a link to connect on a call. We connect on the call to share information on Intrinio, and most importantly, to learn more about the prospect's data needs and requirements. As an SDR, it's essential to understand the data needs of the prospect and how they will be using it. Alec [Isaac, our sales engineer] will sometimes jump on these calls if they get more technical.
After the initial call, the SDR team will do an email introduction to a sales rep if the client is ready to start testing. If their timeline is further out (3 months +), then the SDR will continue to follow up and ask questions.
Once the prospect starts testing, we include their customer success manager and sales engineer to answer any questions they have along the way. The prospect can test production-level data so that they get the full experience of being an Intrinio customer before they go live.
If all goes well during testing then they become an Intrinio partner!

I love being the first person someone talks to at Intrinio. I enjoy educating them on how we started, what exactly we provide, and how we can help power their business. I learn something new daily - either from prospects asking questions, shadowing sales calls, or talking to coworkers. Being part of a collaborative team has helped me grow and keeps work interesting every day.
Right now, I am checking in on our old leads/deals that never closed, for multiple reasons. There are thousands of prospects that reached out and may not have been ready for our data, and follow-up is essential! Many deals are lost because they are in the early stages and don't have a business plan/budget yet, so by us checking in and seeing how their business is going, this sometimes results in an immediate response! Many prospects also went with a cheaper provider only to find out that they need quality data to run a business.
The SDR team is also working on cold outbound leads. We are working on generating more leads for the sales team and connecting with prospects in our target markets. This involves using multiple methods to connect such as LinkedIn, email, video emails, and reaching out to multiple team members of a company. We have created multiple sequences and are collaborating on what works best.
